When writing articles as an Internet marketing strategy to enhance search engine optimization (SEO), one of the most obvious challenges is finding rich content. Looking at the expert authors at Ezine, one can’t help to wonder where do they get all their ideas, not to mention all the time? Imagine writing over 100 articles less along 700 to 3,000.

Nine months ago I had those exact same thoughts as I just completed my first 10 articles to build web traffic. In an email from Chris Knight, he shared that I probably needed at least 100 articles. My brain was a dither. One hundred articles, where does one find the words, ideas, topics and rich content for 100 articles?

So, I set a goal to have 100 articles completed by December 31, 2005. Then being the fairly proficient goal planner and achiever, I began identifying all the obstacles potentially preventing me from achieving this goal. Besides the obstacle of time, the biggest one was ideas. So, I went to expert writers at All of the most proficient authors wrote about a variety of subjects even though they had expertise in one field.

As I scanned these articles, I realized that many had one common thread. This thread was connecting one idea to another topic and then rewriting a similar, but not exactly the same article. This Connections Approach generates more articles and saves time because you aren't reinventing the wheel with every article that you write. For example, writing about teenagers’ behavior can connect into a second article for parents. For life and learning is truly about how we make those connections between new experiences and existing ones.

Now, that I was seeing the same landscape with different eyes, this awareness began to grow. As I talked with colleagues or read daily news stories, ideas started percolating up and sometimes the ideas felt like it was a series of volcanic eruptions.

With regards to the time management obstacle, I schedule one early morning hour, 5 times each week to write. I have an electronic file called work in progress. Within this file may be anywhere from one to 10 articles of which I am writing and fine tuning. By having the focus and habit of writing, I will be able to achieve this year’s goal of 300 articles because rich content is everywhere.
